Abstract. During the great Patriotic war, the territory of Kazakhstan and Central Asia became not only a war-torn homeland, but also a temporary and even permanent home for internally displaced persons. At the height of the war, evacuation measures faced many difficulties. Despite the fact that after the end of the great Patriotic war, many positive reviews were expressed about the success of this historic decision, there is very little research on how the mass evacuation of the population from the front was conducted, what sequence was organized, and how many residents were evacuated to the territory of Kazakhstan. The article considers statistical indicators and directions of carrying out measures for mass population relocation to the territory of Kazakhstan during the great Patriotic war, analysis and systematization of information concerning the historical significance of this event.
Key word: Great Patriotic war, front, rear, mass relocation, deportation, research, archive, placement.
